Designing premium compression apparel presents an unavoidable engineering challenge.
For true compressive performance — consistent compression, exceptional stretch recovery, shape retention, moisture management, and long-term durability — today’s textile technology still relies on synthetic fibers. Natural and plant-based fibers excel in many forms of athletic apparel, but they cannot yet deliver the specific combination of properties required for a premium compression garment.
Rather than pretend otherwise, we accepted that reality.
The question then became:
If synthetic fibers are currently the best engineering solution for compression apparel, how do we make them better?
BioLuxe® is EveryRep’s answer.
Why Compression Clothing Uses Synthetic Fibers
Compression clothing must do more than stretch. It must create controlled resistance, return repeatedly to its original dimensions, remain stable under tension, and maintain a consistent fit through movement and repeated wear.
That requires a fabric with strong stretch recovery, dimensional stability, abrasion resistance, and enough structural resilience to apply sustained pressure without permanently relaxing. At present, synthetic fibers paired with elastane remain the most reliable way to achieve that combination.
Plant-derived fibers such as TENCEL™ Modal offer exceptional softness, breathability, moisture management, and comfort for many athletic applications. They are not, however, the ideal structure for garments that must deliver sustained compression and powerful recovery.
This is not a judgment about which material performs better in general. It is an engineering decision based on what the garment is required to do.
Designed Around Three Principles
1. Engineering More Responsible Synthetics
Synthetic fabrics can release microscopic fibers throughout their useful life — not only after disposal, but also through normal wear and repeated laundering. Those fibers can enter wastewater, soil, and other environments long before the garment itself reaches the end of its life.
Because compressive performance currently requires synthetic fibers, we believed it was our responsibility to improve what happens to the fibers that inevitably escape.
BioLuxe® incorporates CiCLO® technology, which embeds biodegradable pathways directly into the synthetic fiber. When shed microfibers enter environments where the necessary microorganisms and conditions are present, CiCLO®-enabled fibers can biodegrade up to 20 times faster than comparable conventional synthetic fibers.
CiCLO® does not prevent microfiber shedding, and it does not make synthetic fabric impact-free. It addresses the more practical question: what happens to synthetic microfibers after they are shed?
If synthetic fibers remain necessary for compression apparel, we believe those fibers should be engineered to persist for less time after they leave the garment.
2. Premium Nylon Instead of Commodity Polyester
When developing BioLuxe®, we evaluated the two dominant fibers used in modern compression clothing: nylon and polyester.
Both materials have legitimate technical strengths. Polyester is economical, widely available, easy to dye, and absorbs relatively little moisture. These qualities make it practical for large-scale athletic apparel production.
We chose premium nylon.
For next-to-skin compression apparel, nylon generally offers a softer, smoother hand feel, excellent abrasion resistance, strong stretch recovery, and a more refined drape against the body. Its surface can also be finished to achieve the dense, velvety softness that defines BioLuxe® without sacrificing the structure required for compression.
Polyester has valid technical uses, and nylon is not superior in every possible application. Our decision was specific to the garment we were engineering: premium compression apparel intended to remain comfortable against the skin through training, movement, and extended wear.
Premium nylon costs more than commodity polyester.
We chose it because we believed it produced the better compression garment.
Nylon vs. Polyester for Compression Clothing
The best compression fabric depends on the priorities of the garment. Polyester can be an efficient choice when cost, low moisture absorption, and scalable production are the primary considerations. Nylon becomes especially compelling when softness, abrasion resistance, refined hand feel, and next-to-skin comfort are central to the design.

3. Make Compressive Performance Exceptionally Comfortable
Compression should feel supportive, not abrasive.
BioLuxe® undergoes a specialized surface finishing process that creates an exceptionally soft, finely brushed hand while preserving the fabric’s compression, stretch recovery, shape retention, and durability.
The process creates a dense micro-surface rather than a loose or visibly fuzzy finish. The result is a smooth, velvety feel that remains distinctly technical: soft against the skin, but still structured enough to deliver serious compressive performance.
The objective was simple:
Create a fabric that delivers meaningful compression while remaining comfortable enough to wear for hours, not just minutes.
Different Materials for Different Demands
BioLuxe® is not a claim that synthetic fibers are the best answer for every form of athletic apparel.
They are not.
For products that do not require true compression, EveryRep uses plant-derived materials such as TENCEL™ Modal, selected for softness, breathability, moisture management, and next-to-skin comfort.
BioLuxe® exists for the narrower category in which physics and current textile technology still favor a synthetic structure: garments requiring sustained compression, powerful stretch recovery, dimensional stability, and durability under repeated loading.
The material should follow the engineering requirement — not the other way around.
